Galentine’s day, two years later
After a late night gab fest with the Fab 4, I decided I need to spend some time working on my blog. There are so many things to do and so little time to do it. As I was revisiting older blog posts, I came across this one from February 2021. There was some humor in it (go check it out, especially the last part), but the message was real. It was a good reminder for me and one I wanted to share with you. The reminder is, don’t forget those without Valentines this year. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the roses, chocolates, fancy dinners and all of the posts we will see on social media of the many “ride or dies” and especilly entertaining are the flowers from “secret admirers” or simply a picture of the beautiful arrangements, wanting us to guess who they’re from. You know I speak truth to you….
A good chunk of those “forever best friends” may not be together for Valentne’s Day 2024. It happens every single year. You know it and I know it. Breakups, divorce, cheating….so just take all the posts with a grain of salt! LOL Now for those flower photos that will be posted by some, remember this. Some women take it upon themselves to order their own flowers. Yes, you read that correctly. They order their own flowers and attach “secret admirer” or no name at all, in hopes we will ask “who are they from?!”.
For your information, I won’t be posting a “love of my life” post. Additionally, I won’t buy my own flowers (but I probably will be singing it). We all know the loves of my life are Callie Rhys, Campbell Grae and Sophie Cate! Insert LOTS of heart eyes here!!! I do, however, have a Valentine date. I sure do!!!! We are going out of town, we may even have a nice early dinner. Shopping is not out of the question. But first, we will….
Get our mammograms.
LOL!!!!!!!! Mom and I will be getting our Valentine love from the mammogaphy machine! We had to reschedule due to recent snow. When I called, the receptionist said we have Feb. 14th, but that’s Valentine’s Day, you probably don’t want it. I said PERFECT! We will take it! Mom and I have Valentine plans! Woo-hoo!!!!! Mom will probably buy me some Malone’s and I will treat her to some Crumbl Cookies. Now that I’m thinking out loud, I may even reroute so that we can also squeeze in a stop to Buc-cee’s! Ok, that does it! I have to stop writing. I have to plan my outfit! This or this????
Enjoy your Valentines…or Galentines Day. I hope this article amused you. Don’t get me wrong. I do believe there are MANY solid couples, truly in love, out there.
