Have Bags, Will Travel…
I compiled a list of vacation favorites to discuss on my weekly Instagram series, Let’s Talk, and then quickly realized after the show that I didn’t discuss ANY of them! Many of you are planning to travel this summer. It’s the most popular season to vacation, as kids are out of school. This year, however, I think the travel industry is going to be really poppin’ after the pandmic has us all “caged up” for so long! I have listed some of my favorites. Please feel free to share yours in the comments! Safe travels!
Favorite continental U.S. Beach:
Driftwood Beach, Jekyll Island, Georgia. The name says it all. Massive driftwood everywhere! My girls and I were lucky enough to spend a day there with practically no one else on the beach! We had so much fun climbing over and under all of it, taking pictures.
Favorite non continental U.S. Beach:
Trunk Bay, USVI. This place is just as beautiful as the photos, with it’s crystal clear turquoise water, as far as you can see. The water is calm. There are some cliffs, that are great for picture taking. On one visit, someone was walking up and down the beach, playing the ukulele for the beachgoers! Caution though, if you have food out, the birds WILL take it! I had never seen anything like it LOL! I think we lost a hot dog or two!
Favorite City:
New York City, NY
What’s not to love about NYC?! I suggest a whirlwind weekend visit, where you have limited hours to pack in just as much as you can! It adds to the excitement! You definitely have to catch a Broadway show, eat a pretzel from a street vendor and visit some of the “big name” stores (shop if you can, but I had just as much fun looking!). Things I haven’t done YET…visit the 9/11 memorial and a carriage ride in Central Park. I also want to add that I felt incredibly safe in this town.
Favorite Small Town:
Chatham, Massachusetts
I fell in love with this town! Fom the abudnance of hydrangeas, the quaint little downtown area and the OCEAN! I always wanted to visit Cape Cod and it was everything I hoped it would be! Since visiting there, my favorite author is now Elin Hilderbrand. I can almost feel like I’m “in” her writings and she describes the area so eloquently and it takes me back to my favorite place!
Favorite Amusement Park:
Sesame Place, PA
No doubt about it, Disney is magical! It’s just too much for me! I’m not big on amusement parks or rollercoasters, but I did love Sesame Place. The size of the park isn’t overwhelming. Characters are constantly walking around for meet and greets. There are misting stations located throughout the park for cooldowns!
Be sure to let me know your favorites in the comments! Happy travels!
