Brushy, Brushy

Clean makeup brushes are crucial for clear skin! Just think about it. Product is buidling up on your brushes, as well as flakes of skin and bacteria! YUCK!

There are a number of brush cleaners on the market, with a variety of prices. I prefer to #usewhatyouhave with three simple ingredients…water, distilled vinegar and Dawn dish soap.

In a 2 cup measuring cup, I add 2/3 c. distilled vinegar and 1/2 tsp. Dawn dish soap. Then I fill the rest of the cup with hot water. I place my brushes in the mixture and allow to sit for five minutes. Then I rinse with cold water (until the water is clear). Place on a towel and allow to air dry.

Ideally, I like to wash my brushes every other week, but I’m going to be honest here. It usually happens once a month!

I’m including links to a few of my very favorite makeup brushes. Click on each image, to shop.

Let me know in the comments how you clean your brushes!

P.S. You can purchase my earrings here.

Love this one for my foundation!

I use this one for highlighter.

Probably my favorite brush of all! I use this for crease color and blending my eyeshadow.

I use this to line my eyes and add some definition in my crease for a more dramatic look.

Love it for contour.
