Deck the Halls with Chinoiserie Balls
I love Christmas! I start a Christmas countdown on Dec. 26th! LOL! With a living room remodel this year, I wanted a new tree theme to compliment it. Decorations can add up quickly, especially when you like to pile things on, like I do. Investing in all new ornaments is just not in my budget.
I decided to make some decorations. A trip to Hobby Lobby and I found everything I needed to make Chinoiserie “ball” ornaments. First I traced my wooden circles onto the “wrong” side of my chinoiserie fabric. After cutting all of the circles out, I applied a thin layer of Modge Podge to each piece of wood. I laid the fabric, right side up, onto the wood, and applied another thin layer of Modge Podge. After allowing it to dry completely, I hot glued a satin bow to the top.
Where there’s a will, there’s a way! Get creative! Think outside the box! I can’t wait to show you what these look like on my tree! You may not have to wait long….I”m seriously considering putting one up…JUST ONE!!!
Merry Christmas (four months early),
Marada
