Baby’s Got Her Blue Jeans On
If you follow me on Insta, you know that I team up with some Kentucky bloggers for a weekly #whatiworewednesday series. With today’s feature being blue jeans, I wanted to hop over to the blog and share some denim shopping tips.
The most important factor when shopping for a pair of jeans is knowing your body type. I’m listing the four most common body types for women, along with pointers on what looks good (and not so good) on each.
*Hourglass: A full bust, narrow waist and full hips.
Celebrity examples: Kim Kardashian, Salma Hayek
Styles that work: High waist. Fitted through thigh. Flare or Boot cut.
Styles to avoid: Denim without stretch
*Pear Shape: A smaller top, and fuller through hips and butt.
Celebrity examples: Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce
Styles that work: Trouser pants. High waist. Dark Wash.
Styles to avoid: Light Wash
*Apple Shape: Carries weight around upper body and mid section.
Slimmer in hips, legs and butt.
Celebrity examples: Liz Hurley, Drew Barrymore
Styles that work: MID RISE!!!!
Styles to avoid: Too low of a waist will cause “muffin top”, while too high
of a waist will accentuate
the belly. Avoid skinnies.
*Straight: Not much difference in shoulder, waist and hip measurements.
Celebrity examples: Anne Hathaway, Kim Cattrall
Styles that work: Create curves with a low-rise. Skinny jeans.
Styles to avoid: Trouser pants. Wide leg. High rise.
I’m wearing a bootcut style in the photo. I also want to make note that I’m wearing my red/white/blue! Today is the Presidential Inauguration of our 46th POTUS. Regardless of your political affiliation, let’s all be proud Americans and appreciate our freedoms and liberties.
God Bless America!
