Blue and White Forever

My love for blue and white started with my Grandma Merkie’s dishes. She only pulled them out for special occasions. The rest of the year, they were displayed in her dining room china cabinet, where I would go look at them every Sunday, when we visited. I now have her dishes and lovingly display them in my kitchen.

When I was planning my wedding registry, everything I chose was blue and pink. I remember a blue ginger jar print, that I hung directly on the wall, as you entered the front door my first apartment. I would LOVE to have that print now! Somehow, in one of our many moves, we lost it! (It’s comical, to think of the things we somehow lost while moving! How does one “lose” large framed prints and oversized grapevine wreaths?!)

Throughout the years, my style changed with the latest fads. I was a member of the hunter green and burgundy club. I spent several years with the dark chocolates, olive greens and golds. I even tried to venture into the farmhouse look. In the past few years, when I have finally found my true self: mentally, physically and emotionally, I have discovered my need to be surrounded with what I love most…bright colors! A little bit at a time, I’m brightening my home up. Out are the dark walls and ceilings, and in is my beloved (and always growing) blue/white collection.

Maybe you, too, have a collection. Maybe you want to start a collection. I’m sharing a some great deals and a few splurges with you!
